We deliver food & comfort to homebound elderly in Brevard, NC.

OUR WORK

Meals on Wheels of Brevard has been delivering meals since 1978, helping people maintain their independence and stay in their own homes. All meals are prepared at The Transylvania Regional Hospital under the supervision of a registered dietitian. Meals are low in fat and sodium, satisfy one-third of the day's nutritional requirements, and meet standards for cardiac and diabetic nutrition. Fees are arranged on a sliding scale, and inability to pay will not disqualify anyone from receiving meals.

  • "I volunteer for MOW because I want to give back. If in the process I can spend a little time with the clients, who otherwise may not have anyone to talk to all day, lend an ear, well, that’s a win win.”

    -Patricia Osman, Route H, Fridays

What We Do Matters.

Our service to the community could not be met without dedicated volunteers. We have more than 80 volunteer drivers making deliveries every weekday morning. Each driver delivers meals on the same day each week on the same route, which allows for regular contact and a relationship that can be as valuable to our clients as the meals themselves.
